i have 225/50's kumho ecsta asx on my '04 6mt sedan. i love them. i almost went with the 235/50 combo, but was concerned with bulging sidewalls. to me, the 225 provides enough width and handle great.

don't forget, the tread width differs between tire makes and models. the kumho has a much wider tread cross-section than did my oem turanza's, so even if i stayed 215/55 i would have increased the contact area. the 225/50 took it one step further.

I have the 225/50/17s all around on my Coupe. My car calls for the staggered setup with 235/50 on the rears. I have no issues and the car handles just fine. I have RSAs on the front and Avon 550/AS on the rears.

i'm also running 225/50/17s kumho ecsta spt's. seems to be a good size, handling is great. i was worried bout the extra width in the rain, but no problems. look better than the 215 55s too
