Woohoo!!! Finally got my sways!

After waiting for almost a month it arrived this morning. Took 2 hours to install cus I don't have a lift. Had to crawl under the car and it was just way to tight. Anyways, I have yet to test the car on some curvey mountain road. I drove it around for about half hour, but the real test will come this weekend. I can't wait for the weekend to get here...woohoo!

Re: Woohoo!!! Finally got my sways!

Hotchkis Sways baby!!! Yeah they run out of stock so I had to wait for a new batch to be made. I have the stiffest setting in front and medium in the back. It's sweet indeed!!! Took some pics I'll download it now and resize so I can post it.

Hey Clint I saw your post on the Willow Springs Raceway. Damn I missed the Laguna Seca run that you guys did. I will try and see if I can go on this next one. If not I can always just watch. I will PM you if I can join the event give me some pointers. My friend and I are entering and old school Toyota Starlet sometime this summer. Hopefully I can get some lap times and get some of the rustyness out of my system. If it was just me then no problem there is always this thing called "the wife" that's preventing me from having any fun. LOL!

Anyways, let me get crackin on those pics I will post in a few.

Good choice. Those are nice sway bars.

Yup, keep checking the West Forum for info/discussion regarding Willow Springs. Ya gotta head out! Since you've already some experience in the past, it'll come back to you naturally within a couple of laps. Sneak out in the morning and you'll be back by the same evening ... wife will never notice

Re: Woohoo!!! Finally got my sways!

No what I meant was my friends shop was busy yesterday so I couldn't use the lift in his garage. I had to use my alligator jack and jack stand to lift the car manualy. So I did have space but it would have been better if I had it on a lift. The back was speacially troublesome. I had to disconnect the 3 bolts connecting the muffler to rest of the exhaust pipes. It was neccesary so I could remove the stock rear sways. The front has a ton screws to remove the shroud covering the front sways. It had like a million bolts to remove before I could access it. It was a straight forward bolt on I had power tools in my garage so it was a snap. The freakin front sway weighed about a ton my arms where just getting to tired so I had to ask for assistance from another friend. In any case, I'm happy that the sway bars are finally on. The true test will come tomorrow.

Re: Woohoo!!! Finally got my sways!

Handling, cornering...lessen the body roll. I just go my Tein Flex coilover and Eibach sways installed yesterday. The handling improved a lot compare to my stock sport suspension. Cornering...Oh boy! Love it..Ride is a bit bouncy when set up on the hardest setting..but overall all, I'm digging it..

Re: Woohoo!!! Finally got my sways!

That's great Reggie! I have the same Flex + Eibach setup. Give her a good break-in at the next track event

Details Here.

Glenn,
How does she handle now? Ya might wanna try softer front and stiffer rear for less understeer. Get a little drift action going w. VDC off.

Hey Glenn,
I just got mine in a couple of days ago also. Did you get the grease for the bushings? They must have forgotten to put it in my box.
