Axis Penta - Seem Too "Low-Budget"?

I been looking for some 20in for my G-coupe. My initial choices were Work VS-XX or Work T1S, but the $4K with tires is too extreme for me. So I'm looking for other choices under $2.5K with tires. Axis Penta looks like a alternative, but somehow the brand feels kind of "low budget" or ghetto-ish on a G35.

What do you guys think?

It's all a matter of your budget and brand preference. I'd personally go for the Works.

Keep an eye on the marketplace. If you are patient, you can probably find the works you want for a price that you are willing to pay. If you don't want to wait just get the penta's. There's nothing wrong with that.

If you like the rim and you can afford it, then go for it... Their not low budget.

axis wheels are pretty popular here. If you really want the gram lights then wait and keep checking the marketplace. If you are on a tight budget then get the pentas. They look good too.

Axis rims are pretty well known here as well. I think the price is good and they are not low budget or look cheap. Unless u want to spend 4k on expensive rims which i really don't think its necessary because they served the same purpose. Than again, that just my opinion.

they serve the same purpose from an aesthetics point of view, so they just look as nice as other more expensive wheels, but they aren't as well built as them. People won't argue the looks, but they'll argue the build quality and craftsmanship put into the wheel, that argument always pops up when people compare higher grade wheels to something a bit cheaper, and with good reason too, because there's no way Axis makes higher quality wheels than Work/Volk.
I went in between when I bought my rims, not 4k expensive but not cheap either.

The Axis Penta looks nice and affordable, I just have some hesitation to go for them. I'll keep a eye on the marketplace for a while, if can't find anything under 3K then I guess I'll settle with the Penta.

BTW, you guys know if the center cap on the OEM 19" fits on the Penta?

if your not in the rush, its best to wait. I been waiting for 4 months now and finally got my wheels i always wanted at a decent price. Got my 19" work vs-xx for 2300 shipped, but if you cant wait than penta is fine i guess.

I think I'll give it time until end of August to find my 20" Work, else then Penta it is.

BTW for the Penta, are these specs correct for the coupe? I probably will get dropped on some 350Z H-Tech, but not interested on rolling fenders.

Size: 20"x9"(F)/20"X10"(R)
Offset: 25mm(F)/25mm(R)
Bolt: 5X114.3

The specs are good for a coupe. You shouldn't have to roll your fenders as long as you don't go any larger than a 275 tire in the rear.

They come in 20mm offset for the front, will that be better?

Craxis? lol, they're alright wheels. Like everyone stated above, be patient and spend a little extra for some works or volks. You'll be able to find good deals here and on my350. 2500 could get you some nice volks!

Axis wheels are great wheels. At the end of the day it is what you can afford. I can never justify spending 4k on rims alone. Think about it this way, you spend 2.5k on axis, and you still have a significant amount left for other mods.

Now if you are looking at performance, volks are lighter, but the question is by how much?

It is your money, spend it the way you want.

Exactly how I think of it, I cant imagine spending 4K on wheels/tires, but then I want the look of Work wheels. So either I dig deep into the pocket for a new set, stick around for a while for a set of used one, or settle with Axis.

Meanwhile, I'm also deciding on the spec for the Penta's. Should I go with 25mm or 40mm offset for the fronts?

shipsaeki, NICE screenname, LOL!
