Tire Options

The time has come for new tires. I have the OEM 19s on right now and want to get the same size tires to fit them that came on the car. What brands might last longer than my Bridgestone Potenzas that only lasted 16k.

I'd recommend the ECSTA SPTs http://www.kumhousa.com/tires/passen...rmance/KU31.do. I just put them on my G35 OEM 19s. I've found that they're just as good as the OEMs in the dry, but a lot better in the wet. At around 80MPH they're surprisingly quiet on the highways (at least as quiet as you can get on highways in Toronto). They're also a lot cheaper than the Bridgestones.

Toyo T1R or Falken 452 are the most popular for midrange tires.

falkens are awesome. you remember what you paid for 'em though.

see the issue is that I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a new bimmer 335 when the 2009 models come out. so I sort of dont want to put really expensive tires on, but at the same time, it's still a G35 and I want to treat it is as such and not disrespect it with **** tires.

I put Falken TS115's on mine. Great, cheap, tire BUT they wear out too fast.

I had Goodyear Eagle RS-A's on before and if I can find them in 19's, I'm going back to them.

since you're in indiana, tirerack is right around the corner from you, but i don't think they carry falken. Discount tire carries falken and toyo, usually price is good. also 1010 tires carry toyos as well.

You're dead on. I originally wanted to put 452s on my car, but they don't have a 225/40/19. As a result, I went with the Kumhos.

Strange.... I read the TireRack reviews, and I thought most of the reviews of the Ecsta SPT were quite positive. In fact, the vast majority of Infiniti owners who did a review of the Ecsta SPTs gave it a good score (http://www.tirerack.com/survey/Surve...rePageLocQty=).

That being said, my first choice was the Falken 452, but they don't have a 225/40/19. I also agree that the SPTs aren't the best for flat out performance, but they're definitely a fantastic deal.
