Suspension upgrade time

OK, ive had it with my suspension...even though i have the 350Z suspension...its just not cutting it for me anymore. Still too much body roll, and still crappy feeling...only cause i got used to it though. i cant even imagine driving on the stock suspension anymore...disgusting.
SOOO..., it is time for coilovers! any suggestions? and yea, i knw theres thousands of posts on this, but they dont come to any real conclusions. what is the beeeest way to go...on a budget of...lets say 2 grand...including installation of course.

Jic Flta-2 coupe version, order with 9kg front springs

That is what I would buy for myself if I had $2k sitting around.

Word to the wise, the Jic Flta-2 sedan version should be avoided, extreamly weak rear spring rates. Front:560 Rear:392 F+78% R+15% Transfers +63% roll stiffness to the front!

Re: Suspension upgrade time

I second the Tein Flex + EDFC. Can't beat the adjustability of both the stiffness and the ride height.

Re: Suspension upgrade time

Jim,
I'm just curious. Does JIC let customer order the FLTA2 with 9/10 spring combo w.o. any surcharge? If the case, I'd highly recommend that setup for people that are serious about handling.

The Tein Type Flex a also a great choice too, but will end up costing you a lot more just to get the ideal spring rates.

On the other hand, the support at Tein has been nothing short of great for me and many others. For JIC ... well, heard some not so great feedbacks. Your miles may vary, however!

Re: Suspension upgrade time

ive heard that JIC's quality has really gone down the toilet in recent years... so i think im going to stay away from them.

Re: Suspension upgrade time

The only problem I've heard about the Jics besides the ride quality on the 10kg/12kg Z setup is with a owner running 14kg/16kg spring rates, his dampners are leaking. Which doesn't surprise me considering he's not running the RS version which would be valved to such high rates. Jic's are mono tube and have the same adjusment system for vehicle height as the Tein flex system.

Yes, Jic will do the different spring rates at no charge.
