Brake squeak?

I have had my G for over a month now and I notice that when I am pulling into a parking space or going slow and coming to a stop that my brake(s) squeak or there is a noise similar to this I hear. Any thoughts, suggestions? It does not happen all the time.

Re: Brake squeak?

a week after i got my g out of the lot my brakes started to squeal when slowing down and coming to a stop. its most likely just brake dust building up on the pads or rotors. nothing to worry about really. to get rid of the squealing you either need to clean the rotors or when you're driving around, just brake hard a few times. it should clean some of the dust causing the squealing noise.

Re: Brake squeak?

i had a squeak in the rear, took to dealer, they replace the pads.

i think there was a known issue with the pads and they will give you a new better pad for free, worth the trip to the dealer, my brakes don't make any noise at all now...

Re: Brake squeak?

I had mine replace from the dealer too. But after a month, the noise came back. The dealer later on told me that it was normal. Like one of reply stated, it's the brake dust that is making the noise. If it happen again, just was your car and clean your brake.

I have a friend that owe a ferrari and porsche, he got brembo big brake upgrade, the brake noise on the car is even louder than ours. I guess there is a little price to pay for performance.

Great, thanks for the reply. I am fine with it and I haven't heard it lately, so no biggie. I can live with it cause I am def not getting rid of the G.

Re: Brake squeak?

yah im noticing the sqeak on my brakes too, but sometimes its there when i drive. Do you guys sometimes hear the squeak when driving? I think i may have a real problem. The pads the car comes with do create a lot of dust, so i guess thats an explaination, maybe i'll try to go get myself a free new set of pads....=)

Re: Brake squeak?

I have the same problem some squeek at low speed braking when your stopping. Mainly from the rear but sometimes from front. I have now 24k miles. My dealer usually says on things I have brought to them as normal so its annoying going to him.

For those who got the new pads what did you guys tell the dealer, some details etc. so I can do the same with my dealer to get the new pads. I just hate to go do multiple trips to convince him.
I heard they are replacing pads for any 5AT with less then 36k miles. Is it for both front and rear?
