Help me decide: 20" chromies or Pioneer AVIC-N1

OK, i've had my car since july of 03...i have some engine mods and audio mods, but the thing i dislike is that shes still looking stock (exterior wise). Ever since the Pioneer came out with the avic-n1, i've wanted it but i am very indecisive. I need to find i good looking set of chrome 20" rims (this is where you guys come in). If you would; please post pics of your ride that match my description as i just mentioned or let me know of ones that would go well with a black coupe (i looked at the "rims for a black coupe thread" but i prefer chrome. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I guess if i dont find a good set of rims this week i may end up just geting the avic-n1 instead

I haven't gotten to change rims on my black coupe yet so i do not have any pics, but i did see some chrome rims at the NY Auto Show. They were by Donz Wheels.
(http://www.donzwheelz.com/) The capone, brasco, corleone, luciano, gambini styles all come in 20". There is even a picture of a white coupe with 20" Capone rims on their website. There is a g35 sedan and a 350z pictured as well. Also a popular place for chrome rims is http://www.giovannawheels.com. Tire Rack, which you probably have been to already lets you see how each rim that they have would look against your car model & color.
Good Luck!

booterfloo, at $1270 a rim, you can have those Donz wheels! Dang, that's expensive...b4 tires too!

2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!

If you are an audio/video/mp3 buff then get the AVIC-N1, it really is a sweet system. I'm installing mine this coming weekend. The stock 18" wheels are great, they match the car well.
AVIC-N1 off ebay for $1600
Double-Din dash kit for $385
Harnesses for $15
TOTAL: $2000

A good set of wheels will cost you over $2000 thats for sure (with Tires).

For me, i would go with the interior mods because if you think about it, you dont sit there and stare at your car all day, you spend the day driving it- so you are INSIDE of it most of the time, so spending the money on the inside is more important than spending on the exterior (bigger/shinier wheels will only make performance significantly WORSE)

the guy i spoke with at the ny auto show (he was from a shop in lodi) quoted me 1800 for the gambini rims w/ tires. there is 3 month no interest financing too.

the audio is for you.

the rims are for the people around you.

i say get the audio first. you'll enjoy it more often than you do the wheels.

Wow could they have possibly come up with a more cheezy theme. I wonder if those rims come with a hat that says "I'm Number 1"

Oh I guess I should ad some input rather than just talk a little smack. I say go with new rims. Check out the IForged group buy and you might be able to get in on that deal. The IForged wheels have the chrome look but without the gaudiness. It ends April 30th I believe so you'll have to make up your mind quick.

Re: Help me decide: 20" chromies or Pioneer AVIC-N1

Thank you for all of your responses, you guys made some good points for audio....after some thinking i've decided to go ahead and finish off my audio and video set-up....i will purchase the avic-n1 along with 2 10" diamond M6 subs, D5 amp for bass a voodoo capacitor and a custom box that will be ported thru the rear deck..i should have this done in a few weeks. cost for this..about 3.8k

BTW: as a side note, i will end up having to purchase new rubber for the rear anyway, the tread is at the wear bar already, geez. she only has 10.5k miles on her

Re: Help me decide: 20" chromies or Pioneer AVIC-N

nooooooooooo,. go with the Wheels,
Nothing says bling bling like some 20 inch chrome..
If you have a banging system you will get people to look but they will just say its just another stock G35.. versus if you get the rims, most wont care about the system.. especially the Biatches!!!!
