Am i being ****

Hey guys i have an 08 G35 w/ sport wheels ... 18" ... and here is the question...

Whenever i get them balanced or brakes worked on, i have noticed that where the lugnut goes in, there are a few little scratches from where the machine is touching the powder coating of the inside the wheel. (This is not on the outside, but the place where you put the lugnuts in...)

Is this ok? Or should i raise hell?

Thanks

It's normal wear and tear and I doubt you will get anywhere with them about it. There is really no way to prevent it other than being very careful and getting lucky to not slip at all.

I say **** because if you where that worried about that then you should take them off yourself and bring them to the shop OR put tape inside there before going.

its extemely common, but its certainly not wrong of you to politely ask the technician servicing your car to please be careful and use handtools only, most of them understand.

+1 ...I did this a couple times when it comes to mounting new tires and balancing but no choice when you need an alignment done.

In reality, after making all the precaution, you'll realize even your lug wrench at home will scratch it up.
