Tire Opinion: Falken Ziex 912s

i was wondering has anyone used the Falken 912s on the coupe 18s. i know that alot of people are running the Toyo T1Rs and the Falken 452s. But i like how the 912s are ultra high performance all season tires. i have ask other people about those tires but they were on hondas and they were running the smaller size tires. so any help would be nice. thanks!

From what I've read elsewhere on the web, people seem to really like these tires. They're rated really well for the snow/ice, and they're quiter than the Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Season, for example.

I would NOT get the Nitto NeoGen... heard bad things from a few people.

My father and I actually decided to install the Ziex ZE-912 (17") on my mom's CLK 500 since she was due for tires. So far I don't notice any difference sound/driving-feel-wise from the Michelin Pilot Sports that were on there before. I haven't driven it hard, however, and the tires are brand new. For my mom who needs a car for all seasons and doesn't do any particularly aggressive driving, they were a reasonably-priced and logical pick. We also liked their 360 (IIRC) treadwear rating.

I've heard a few complaints, but I don't consider complaints from people driving Corollas with 14" wheels valid.

How soon do you need to make a decision? I'd be happy to give you an update in more miles, but at <7,000 miles/year, it might be a while before I can really give you some quality info.

They're a very nice tire, my only gripe is that they are assymetrical so you cant flip them, unlike the tire they replaced, the Ziex 512.

I think I'd shell out another $11 and get the 452s, they seem to get better reviews overall and also get higher marks for wet traction and road noise.

Yeah, but they're not all-season...

If you're only worried about rain the 452s will work great, if snow is a concern then by all means you'll want all-seasons.
