like G Sedan said, it will stick out....kinda like a Cali Mexican gangster ride!

try to find an offset between 40-35? (correct me if im wrong)

and you might need to roll ur fenders with a 40 offset (again correct me if im wrong)

^^yes you are wrong...lol

optimal safe offsets for sedans are:

8.5 in front with 35-40mm
9.5 in rear with 42-45mm

you will have no problems with this setup

6spsedan, you can only roll your rear fenders...and +40mm offset, depends on the width, you will not need to roll. +40mm on a 9.5 rims you will need a mild mild roll depending on tire...+40mm rims on a 10" wide rims in the rear, then you need to roll...but it will fit with no problems

for a 10" rim wouldn't something like +48~50 offset be the better one? with a +40 will that not rub the inner wheel well?

I think it will fit with a 225/40/18 because I put the coupe wheels on my car with a 10mm spacer and it didnt stick out.

Like I said, a +40mm you will need to roll your fenders. But how would it rub the inner wheel well when it's coming out more? remember, the higher the offset, the more sunken in it becomes. So an offset of +48-50, it will stick in more than a +40mm...

But you have to remember: you are lowered (more neg camber), the smaller series tire (fatory is 225/45/18), and the fact that oem is 8 inches (he's asking about 8.5).

OP, in theory, it doesn't "fit", but everyone has different idea of fitment. But can you make it fit with some neg camber and stretched tire? yes. Somehow if you're asking about this, I doubt you're going for some extreme fitment.

This doesn't make any sense, the car follows the same camber curve whether lowered or not, so if its going to rub at stock height, then its going to rub when lowered. If you are lowered with camber correction, then it gets even worse

i ask because i am planning on getting either a 10 or 10.5 for my sedan in the future and i've asked around and i have gotten very different answers from everyone. Someone else posted this guide how accurate is this? has anyone discussed this on thread to see if it is actually factful data? acording to this a 10" around +55 would be just fine. I would just like to know before i drop some serious $$$ on wheels. hopeflly those sedans with 10 or higher can chime in.

^^i seen alot of sedans with 10" rear...good luck finding anyone with 10.5" rear...the +45mm offset on the 10" rear will make it look nice and flush

i meant to say he knows he doesnt rub because he is lowered. I am aware that if you clear when you're lowered you will clear when you're stock height.

If you lower the car 2" and dont have a camber kit up front then YES, you can fit an 18x8.5 +22 up front with a 225/45 tire. Same goes for the rear, you can fit a 10.5 +40 in the rear with a 275 tire, as long as you have atleast -2.5 degrees of camber and flatten the rear fenders.

the most aggressive offsets i have seen on a 1st gen sedan is +25 in the front and +40 in the rear. 20x8.5 and 20x10

It sits flush with the fenders ,but they must be rolled to run that offset.
