I've read about all you people changing pads, but has anybody resurfaced the rotors when changing or replacing pads when they wear out? I always was told you must resurface rotors otherwise you get chatter and/or shimmy.

If the rotor is in good shape and you're using new pads of the same type, it's not strictly necessary. However, when switching pad materials, you do want to, to make sure there isn't any material from the old pad left deposited on the rotors. Then you want to make sure to properly bed the new pads to the rotor.
