Still no Ceramic pads or 18" Kleenwheels

Had my local brake shop check with all of his suppliers for ceramic brake pads for the G35 coupe.

No such luck.

I just checked the "KleenWheels" site again to see if they had shields for the 18" wheels for the G35 and the M45 (which I've now got on my G35 Coupe). Still no such product.

No, I don't like detailing my car myself. My local "Discount Tire" guy is going to do a 3 step polish of my M45 wheels when I take her in to get shod with new Michelin Pilot Sport AS tires (245/40R18Y front and 255/40R18Y rear). After that I'll have to regularly wash the wheels (with a mild soap) because of the LARGE amounts of brake dust from the stock pads. What a "pain in the back" (literally). Just FYI.

For those pains I highly recommend a rolling stool!

Got mine at griotsgarage.com and love it.

what on earth tis the guy going todo to your wheels. It only takes mild soap as it is now to clean them. I hope hes not charging you for whatever he is going todo.

Re: Still no Ceramic pads or 18" Kleenwheels

I bought them used off of eBay.

They are tarnished and scratched. They're not in the mint condition as pictured on eBay.

It's easier and cheaper to have this local guy put them back in the condition I wanted rather than fight with the guy who sold them on eBay.

Once he gets them in that "mint" condition, that's when I have to try to keep them that way. It would be easier to get ceramic pads or dust shields but it looks like I'll have to do it the hard way.

Here is what he's going to fix.

Scratched & Tarnished:
Wheel # 1

Wheel # 2

He's going to polish them to get rid of the scratches and the tarnish and then he's going to apply a clearcoat (silicone?) wax.
