05 wheels vs 08 wheels for snow tires

I have an 05 G35 sedan 6mt and bought 17" snow tires for the 17" rims I bought and used for the past 3 winters. Thinking of getting an 09 G35 Sedan but noticed that the tires are of different sizes for the front and back unlike the 05 which had the same size tires for front and back.

My question is can I use my current snow tire and wheel set up on the new 09 or does the different tire size on the front and back make a difference. I will be switching obviously to 17" tires that are the same for front and rear. Will there be a problem with handling or speedometer calibration or even fit???

No one bought wheels to mount snow tires on their 03-06 G Sedans and bought an 07-08 G and thought about using the 03-06 wheels to mount new snow tires on their new G. Am I the only one with this question?

Check your stock tire sizes and you winter tire sizes with this calculator
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

If they are close (ie under 2% difference) then you can use them for sure. Some people have run bigger differences but I wouldn't.

Make sure your stagger is ok as well unless you don't care.
