Tire Noise Issue HELP!?!?

Hey, my name is Josh i own a 05 Coupe AT, i have the OEM 19's on. The tires are fairly new when I bought them pirelli brand. My issue is for the last couple of weeks i have been having crazy loud road noise like i have mud terrain tires on ha. The time where the noise is the loudest is when im slowing down, and speeding up. I need help with this issue its becoming a real problem. Also i did take it in to the dealer about the noise, he told me that since the tires in the front are different sizes in the front than in the back i cannont rotate them, Duh i knew that much! he said that the tread is wearing differently and thats what is causing the noise. If there is anything anybody can tell me to fix this issue that would be greatt!! thanks again!

PS. I scratched my right front rim couple months ago on a curb i have no idea if that is what is causing it, not a big scratch at all though

It's common in these car. You need an alignment and less toe in. The tires are most likely cupping which causes the noise you describe. Once they start wearing like that you usually have to live with it or get new ones. Not getting an alignment will make it a lot worse.

Built-in factory non-adjustable negative camber is cause too on the fronts. Rear has some camber adjustment, but not much.

Coupes and front end feathering go hand in hand. There is nothing you can do other than replace your tires with a tread pattern that does not feather as easily and cause the front end roar. The negative camber is the cause which can not be remedied as it is built into our car's front end design. Any tire you choose will feather somewhat. Camber kits have been discussed to offset the issue, but there is an expense and no guarantee of results. Best bet is.... Lose your front tires, get an alignment and purchase OEM tires for your 17s or 18s as those usually have the least issues. You can find much cheaper tires, but you will have to experiment... and the expense comes into place. The biggest complaint on 03-07 Coupes are tire issues. Google it if you need more info. It's quite common.

Thats what the parts manager was telling me also how common this problem was too. I appreciate the feedback I am defiantly getting a alignment though.
Thanks again

the 20" wheels and tires(wanlee) i put on my G actually amplified the road noise. i beleive it to be related to the tires and their rating. very noticable at low speeds. not bad at highway speeds.
when i put the stk 18" wheels and tires(yokohama) on, the noise is not noticable. wheel alignments in spec

I have fixed this issue on a few customer cars took a front camber kit, new tires, and 2 alignments and a few rechecks, they also were just drivers. Not much spirited driving just a back and forth to work type deal. I don't recommend it if you like to take your car through the twistys messing with the suspension geometry of a nissan/infiniti vehicle is fairly tricky as they do handle very well from the factory.

Wrong....The biggest issue owners of '03 & '04 G35s have is the poor quality brake
pads Nissan installed....I'd consider 10K miles on my OEM pads damn poor!
I'm currently using Hawk HP pads which have 12K miles on them and hardly
worn. Back to tire noise....I had Michelins on my G with zero tire noise. I
sold them when I got new rims with Bridgestones, like he mentiond previously
they sound like 4X4 tires when you slow down. I'll live with the noise thru
next winter but by May I'll bite the bullet and get another set of Michelins.
My alignment is set to factory specs!

+1!
Michelins hold out longer before the noise begins but it always comes eventually, even with frequent alignments... I also like the tires I have now and may just get another set for the front which I can't stand for more than 14-18K (progressive noise). Some brands dont last 10K on the front before they sound like im driving a 4X4,
These are wearing nicely and are quiet still at 15k on front, they grip well in all weather and I may keep using them:

You should hear my 20" sound, lets just say I beat the Jeep Wrangler with offroad tires (the noise). Sound kinda cheap for my car, but then have to live with that til the next set of tires.

Tires and brakes are both issues for the 03 and 04s. Tires remain an issue through 07. I took care of the brake issues by changing to Ceramics and now have no dust, noise, or excessive wear. Tires will always be an issue for our cars. The G37 has finally gotten it right. I guess Nissan listened.
