Different size tires on "X"

I'm in need of some help or advice and I hope you guys can help without too much torture for asking such a noob question.

A couple of months ago I picked up my first AWD, a black/black 2006 G35X. After a month on searching for a set of wheels at a good price (eBay, tirerack, etc), I saw a set of 350Z Touring wheels listed on Craig’s List. It had maybe 5000-10,000 miles on the tires with minimul curb rash. It also included the TPMS. The seller listed it for $300.00 OBO. I took it off his hands for $250.00.

The rims are all the same size (18x8).
There is a “FRONT”, and “REAR” markings on them, but after searching, they all weigh the same.

My question/concern is on the tires. 2 fronts are 225/45/18 and the rears are 245/45/18.

Would that be bad for my AWD? And if so, why?

Bad? yes.

Why? Because how the AWD detects slip (ie.. tire speed differentials).

Running diff sizes = tire speed differentials 100% of the time.

Read your owner's manual for tire size info

did coupe 19 x 8 up front and 19 x8.5 in back of my 05 x, and within 10 miles my differentials were making noises up front and the awd light flashed. dont do it from experience. make sure your overal diameter is the same and you should be fine. 225 front 245 back, not a good combo with the x
