So normally when I go to a tire shop its a better "deal" if I buy 4 tires. However what if I buy staggered rims and thus all 4 tires are not the same size? Obviously the bigger tires will cost more but do you lose out on any savings by not buying four the same tires?

Sounds like a question for the tire shop itself? I am sure each shop is different. It never hurts to call.

I don't really think so, most tire shops will price match or beat any competitor's price. So call around and get the best quote you can for the tire your looking for and see if your shop can match or beat it. As far as mount+balancing of the new tire goes, just about every place I had my tires changed had a set price per wheel, so no real savings there if you bought 4 or 2.

i've asked that question before. the local tire shop told me as long as buy four (4) tires, I can get a quantity discount, even if it's different sizes. and +1 on price matching too, they will usually price match, if not beat their direct competitors (probably not internet prices though). If you're lucky, some might even give you free mount/balance/install when you buy 4 tires.
Cool. Thanks all for responses. The inability to rotate sounds like it could get a little expensive.
