well if you have the stock 19's.. i would go with 245.35.19 for the fronts.. and 255.40.19 for the rears.. this is a more popular combo.. and it gives you alot more tire options

well to be honest.. i've never driven with the stock re050a's... but i keep hearing they're not that great... so i really can't tell you what would have more grip...

but tires i've used on that list that have decent grip would be the falken fk452's.. toyo t1r's... general exclaim uhp's...

my brother had the kumho spt's on his Mercedes CLK and loved them as far as grip and wear

the rest is just a list i've compiled through good word of mouth.. and read good overall reviews on all of them

btw, i left out nitto invo's and the nitto neo-gen's.. i've heard those were really good also... invo's i heard are excellent for grip

it all comes down to what you want out of your tire.. its usually hard to have both long wear and good grip.. its usually a tradeoff

ill take the long life over the grip for now, tires are effin expensive for 19s. almost as much as tires for my truck (37" tall tires)

ill do some research and find whats good for me, thanks for the list and sizes

The Toyo T1R's are really popular here for their long life, but their grip isn't quite up to snuff compared to the RE050A. The sidewall is also quite a bit softer, so you'll have a smoother ride as well.

If you're looking for grippier stuff, try some Bridgestone RE01Rs. They won't last too long, but you'll have a blast while they do

i might have to go for the toyo t1rs then. i like the long life and soft sidewall for a smooth ride. those two dont usually go together with tires

Guys, one of my original REO50A's got a nail in it that can't be patched. The other three tires have alot of life left in them. I'd rather get a replacement that is very similar to the other three so that it doesn't stick out like a soar thumb. Would you guys recommend sticking with the Potenza's. I don't know if having one different tire would make a difference with road noise.

Depending on how much tread you have left, you may want to replace both tires. Differing tire diameter can be unsafe, and potentially cause VDC to act funky.

Mismatched tires are definately a no-no with this car.

well from that list.. judging by treadwear ratings.. the general exclaims, the p-zero neros and the eagle gt's have 380 or higher treadwear ratings.. out of those i've used the generals on my coupe and had them staggered... those lasted me awhile.. about 25k miles easily and just flipped them inside out only once to get more life outta them.. i'm sure if i flipped them more often i could of got more mileage out of them.. and they gripped pretty decent

but right now i'm using yokohama's w4s' on my 20's... i've only got about 1k on them so far... these have a 400 treadwear rating.. i didnt really care too much about grip but these grip really good and they have a high treadwear.. too bad they dont make these for 19's.. i dont know why.. otherwise i would of suggested these too

Treadwear ratings cannot be compared across brands, as each manufacturer has different standards.

Also, everyone has a different standard for what they call "sticky" tires.

In regards to treadwear, I've yet to find ANY tire over 180 that I would consider sticky, but there are plenty of tires with treadwear ratings UNDER 180 that are definately not sticky (RE050A included; RE050A Pole Positions are a different story)

yea i agree that it doesnt compare across brands.. but it does help give it some standard or baseline on treadwear if you're looking at a reputable brand.. such as those named above.. but of course if you went with some no name, knock off brand... those numbers should never be trusted... if you get what im saying lol

nah you shouldnt have any vdc or rubbing issues with the stock 19's.. it'll be fine with those sizes

Those are great tires, wet or dry they'll stick to the road. They do have
several negatives, tread wear is 140 so if you get much over 10K miles out of
the set you did better than I did. And, they are not cheap tires especially
when you consider the poor wear factor. Try the Tire Rack and ask there
opinion on good tires for your G.

If you want a good "value" tire, use the Toyo T1R or Kumho Ecsta MX.
