Mixing Dunlop Winter Sport M3 and 3D

My rear snow tires (Dunlop Winter Sport M3 in 225/55-17) are now 4 years old, and though they have some tread left, I would like to replace them before winter (my fronts are still in very good shape.) While I can find a replacement set, they are much more expensive since Dunlop has replaced them with the Winter Sport 3D, which I can easily get from Tire Rack.

Anyone see any major issues with running the 3D's in back and the M3's up front?

Follow up for those who are interested - I spoke to Tire Rack and they said it would be no problem running M3 up front and 3D in back (axle pairs) because the tread patterns and compounds are similar.
