g37s wheels on 1st gen g35 lug nut question.

People that put g37s wheels on their 1st gen sedan or coupe, do you guys need shank lug nuts? I'm not sure if the g37s use shank lug nuts instead or spline drive lug nuts. The reason why i am asking is because the other day i took off my wheel and i saw metal shavings coming off slightly. I am using the stock lug nuts that came with the car. please help. thanks in advance

Make sure you are not cross threading your nuts onto your studs.

for sure it's not cross threading it, it goes in and out smooth, until it hits the rim.

If you can torque it to 80lbs, you're fine. Also as they said make sure you're not cross-threading it, or else you will need a new stud.

I agree with you guys on the debate, but lets keep it in the off topic threads.

I think you'll be fine. Just inspect your threads and ensure that they are alright. If you doubt them at all, change your studs. Trust me it is a b#*&# to clean up after a lugnut is frozen. (8 hours of drilling )

Also, wheels don't have anything to do with your lug nuts/stems.

You weren't clear when you you said you were "using the stock lugs that came with the car".
You're gonna be hating life real soon if you used the cone type lugnuts that came off of YOUR car (G35)!
The 37's use a shank style lug and from what I have read I would stick to the OEM vs aftermarket as some are saying the fit with aftermarket is a little sloppy.
You can find them on EBay for $1 - 1.50 each

i would just use OEM lugs i found that out the hard way cuz any regular lug wont fit at all. the g37 lugs are totally different and just so u know they are about 150 from dealer for the set
