Need expert opinion on tire size to get

I have a question that has probably been asked before.

I have the stock 18" OEMs on my sedan and want to replace the rubber on them. I do not want to continue the staggered sizing between the front and back but rather get the same size all the way around.

My main question is, do I go with 235/50 or with 245/45 all the way around? Is there much difference? Im not looking for performance, basically just looks but I also dont want to change the ride quality in any way. Im afraid If I go to wide I will lose pickup?

From the research ive done it looks like the 235 setup will give me about a 3.6% too slow reading on the speedometer and the 245 setup will give me a 1.4% too slow reading.

I always appreciate all the great advice I get from this site. Has made many a decision much easier.

Thanks in advance!

I'd stick with the 245/45. You don't want to change by over 3%. I pulled this off a chart I made up. The last number is circumference, 2nd to last is diameter.

245 35 18 24.75 77.72
255 35 18 25.03 78.59
265 35 18 25.30 79.45
275 35 18 25.58 80.32
285 35 18 25.85 81.18
225 40 18 25.09 78.77
235 40 18 25.40 79.76
245 40 18 25.72 80.75
255 40 18 26.03 81.74
265 40 18 26.35 82.73
275 40 18 26.66 83.72
285 40 18 26.98 84.71
225 45 18 25.97 81.55 Coupe 18" (Front)
235 45 18 26.33 82.67
245 45 18 26.68 83.78 Coupe 18" (Rear)
255 45 18 27.04 84.89
265 45 18 27.39 86.00
275 45 18 27.74 87.12
225 50 18 26.86 84.33
235 50 18 27.25 85.57
245 50 18 27.65 86.81

Thanks TrentaCinque

I appreciate the info and am going to go with your advice. Looks like that size may just be what I want.
