Replacing a 285 tire with a 275?? doable?

hey , tires are not my strong suit...so i was wondering if anyone could help me out with how the tire might look and or overall effect of doing this....... currently i run a 285/30/20 tire in the rear on my Asanti AF 112s (i beleive its a 10 inch rim, not 100% since i did not buy them originally) and was wondering if a 275/30/20 would work?...reason being a guy on the forums is selling 2 for a good price.......and money is tight lately specially a day before xmas.....

275/30/20'S are typically fine on any wheel from 9" to 11". Each manufacturer has their own specifications, usually listed on their respective websites, but I do believe all of them include 10" wheels. No issues in the size department if you are 10" wide.

As for the look, you probably won't notice too much, there would just be slightly less bulge protecting the lips of your wheel, simply resulting in a bit more of a stretched look. No other adverse side effects will result.

You will be just fine .
