Maximum acceptable rim/tire widths

If this is a stupid question I am sorry. How wide can you go with the front tires without causing the tires to rub when you turn? I want to get rid of the staggered stock rims and go with a setup I can rotate. Should I go skinnier in the rear or wider in the front? How much skinnier or how much wider? Any help is appreciated.

Go with a staggered setup....but if it's that important to get 4 of the same size wheels, i'd say get 9.5's...offsets will determine if you will have rubbing issues or not!

9.5's won't be too wide up front? Is there a disadvantage to having a rim that wide up front?

9.5/10.5 is probably the most common setup, so no, 9.5 is not too wide up front

btw I'm running 9.5/10.5

same here...I have 285/35/19 and rubs...if you go 275 probably don't have to worry about it.

Get fenders rolled, just had mine done and worth every penny...

What does "9.5" mean (I amnot familiar with the term)? I have a set of aftermarket wheels and performance tires from a Benz I recently sold. The tires on it are 235/50 17' on all four. Can anyone tell me if the 235/50 would 'rub' on the front of a G coupe?

Shouldn't someone ask if he's sedan or coupe?

Is that your ever-so-subtle way of asking if I have a coupe or sedan? I have a coupe.

You can fit up to a 285 in the front from what I've actually seen

One of my buddies from Seattle. On a 350z but fitment is essentially the same
http://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-t...r-rolling.html

He actually ended up going to a 295 in the front with a 315 in the rear
