Alright, so just got ahold of some used stock 19" rays. Theres tires on their, but there in need of replacement.

Current sizes on the wheels:
F: 245/35/19
R: 275/35/19

I thought this was exceptionally big for a 8.5" wide wheel, agreed?

After doing some searching on here, some people DO run 275s, but looks like alot of people recommend this setup:

F: 245/35/19
R: 255/40/19

What do you recommend? Also is there a big difference between 255/40 and 255/35?

I also plan on putting 20mm spacers in the rear, and 15mm in the front.

I think mine are all 35s but I don't remember off the top of my head. I'm sure 40s in the rear would look good though.

 

I don't see any issues using 245/35X19 in front but I'd use 255/35X19 out
back rather than the 40s! Keep in mind when you buy tires there's 2 areas
you don't want to cut corners tires & brakes. Buy quality tires, your life may
depend on it!

Any reason why you would want 35s rather than 40s... does anybody of pics of the differences or is in not really noticable difference?

 

Anyone know if altering the size from stock would mess with the system that gauges and alerts when your tire pressure is low? I purchased an 04 g35 coupe 6mt recently, and evidently the only problem with the car is the tire pressure light is on, though the tire pressures all around are fine. The only thing I can think of is that the front tires are 235/40/18, instead of the original 225/45/18.

 

Tire diameter is higher with the 40 series than with 35 and larger that what
OEM is. The 40 series won't give you a true speedometer reading, I don't
know about you but it's important to know how fast I'm going....

Tire size ShayanIK has nothing to do with your tire pressure sensors. Make
sure your running 35 to 37 psi in your tires, if your on the border (running
less) cold weather will effect the TPS until they warm up....crazy I know!
These sensors are pretty accurate after you fill your tires the light should
go off within a few miles if not you might have a bad sensor.

The stock size is 224/40/19 and 245/40/19... so how could 40's make the speedo off?

 

Because 245/40 =/= 255/40.

The 255/40 tire will be bigger, despite the same "40" (which depends on the tire width).

EDIT: "Bigger" = bigger sidewall --> bigger overall diameter.

 

Thanks for some clarification.. Is there anything wrong with the stock setup of 225/40-19 245/40-19 ??

Will the setup of F: 245/35/19 R: 255/35/19 show a nice difference as far as looks? what about handling?

245/35/19+255/35/19 is what I have now.

IMHO, it looks much better than stock, although the difference is very very subtle.

On stock Gs with the stock 19" tires, the tires look skinnier, but that's just me ...
