Lower spring rates than front induces oversteer.

spud, in terms of how a aftermark spring differs vs OEM, if the spring transfers roll stiffness (or spring rate) to the front, it would +understeer and -oversteer. Transfering roll stiffness to the rear would -understeer and +oversteer.

It is fully debateable to say at what percentage point one can sense it alters the car. I would think that 10% or less changes would not change much, IMO.

Gsedan35

So you're saying the Tein springs for the G35 would increase understeer?

Do G drivers complain of increased understeer with these springs?

Thanks

yeah ..may be the stiffness for g35 tein Stech has more transfer to the front but ..
u need to consider G35coupe is heavier !!!
specially at the rear of our G!
maybe that is why they transfer the stiff to the front
since the rear is hold down more on the ground by the weight
and the transfer will bring the car to more an equal balance

that is what i think...maybe wrong!

I'm the source of that previous rate data. It was not correct, I did a post explaining things and gave out the corrected data. This wasn't seen by everyone as the incorrect info keep cropping up. Of note is the fact that Hotchkis say's that the oem rates are 310/350. The slight difference can be explained by normal coil spring rate testor error.
