Tires for 9.5 wide rims... quick question
So I picked up some rota p45r's and they are 18x9.5 and the guy said they came with tires... He had them on his lexus and they were 225 up front and 245 in the back. I was pretty shocked that he got 225's on the front... I was actually convinced that they were not as wide as he was saying, but after research I found out that they only come in 9.5 wide. Either way... I now have them and after looking at them... it looks really weird that the tire is somewhat stretched. Does anyone know if is is dangerous to drive on tires like that? I know that my sidewall is compromised and that I can expect to not turn as well as expected... but honestly they are just my street rims... so I do not plan to autox or do anything silly in them. Let me know what you wheel gods think about the subject. They only have about 60% tread left... so I figure I will be changing them in the next 8k miles or so... (about 2 months with how much I drive).
Thanks
-Mike
sidenote - when the 225's go out I will put the 245's on the front and place some new 275's in the back
