I installed a set of of 4 tires on my 06 sedan. I put about 2500 miles on them and the rears are bolder line passing state inspection. I taught these tires were supposed to last 30k. I guess these tires are very soft compound. My front tires are good. Looking at getting Michelin Pilot Sport plus which come with a 45k tread life.

I had those tires on my Mustang GT. I put 10K miles on them before trading the car in for my G35. They were nowhere near as worn as that. I could easily have gotten 25-30K out of them by the looks of the wear at 10K miles. They are actually a pretty hard compound and have a 400 wear rating.

WHen was the last time you got an alignment? You should not have that type of wear at 2500 miles unless something is seriously out of whack in your suspension or you were doing a lot of burnouts or something

Clearly, the rear is out of alignment.

I have had those exact tires on my G for 15k and they should be good for another 15k. As said above, did you get an alignment when you got new tires. They are a hard compound tire (400 tread wear rating) so they are designed to last.

Photos indicate you may have a serious toe-in problem (front of the wheel pointing in towards the center-line of the car) since the tire has been shaved on the outer edge. An alignment, as others have suggested, should do it. Even the most expensive and highly rated tire will show this kind of wear if the alignment is off. Good Luck!

You can see in the 3rd pic that the wear is abnormal due to the rubber "tearing" to the side and the rubber having a lip on the blocks.

Get an alignment before getting new tires.

I am having the alignment checked. I had the aligned mid last year so it should of been okay. I guess TireRack probably will not find the tire defective according to the comments here. So I guess I will have to get new tires..sucks.

PS: I do drive a little aggressive but not what my tire is looking like now.

Sounds like your rear camber is out. That will tear up the tires VERY fast.

I've had these on my stock 17's for almost 2 years, get about 40-45K miles on them.

I had a camber issue for 50 miles and burned up almost 15K miles of tread in that time.

I upgraded rims, so now I have 2 225/55/17's left over...which are basically brand new.

not to be redundant, but i would have to agree with what has been said here. i have these tires on my car for 10k and they look almost new. camber wear seems apparent in the pics

Toe can really screw up tire wear (as noted). If you have your specs, list them up. Someone might be able to see where the problem is.
