tire pressure need help

hey guys, i am a little confused about how much pressure i should have in my g35 auto.
on the door it says 30 psi front and back, but when i checked my tires using a digital gauge for the first time today i found one of them having 42 the other 3 around 39, so i let some air out so they are now all around 30, but i am a little worried maybe i let too much out.
Is it correct that i should have 30 in my tires?

Re: tire pressure need help

Generally a good rule of thumb is to keep the pressure about 10% higher than the recommended one. Reasons are: one, losing pressure is directly related to time, speed, temperature, etc. Therefore, at 30lb, your tires are running underinflated quickly. Two, it is always better to run at slightly overinflated than under. I have been doing it for a long, long time. In conjunction of periodic alignment, my tires last for a long time. I fill mine at 33. Hope this helps.

32-35 is good for driving around town. 38-42 is autocross/track day pressure. It rides way too rough for regular street use.
