Aftermarket Wheel Installation

Has anyone experienced difficulty installing his or her new wheels? It appears my fronts will not go on because of the stud sticking out from the rotor.
Someone please hellllpppp!!!

Re: Aftermarket Wheel Installation

Also, it seems like the lug nuts that came with the wheels are a little too big. I cannot get a socket to "bite" without effing up the rim. Any ideas?

remove the nuts in the fronts and buy a thin walled socket.

Thanks, but what is this stud/peg/rod, or whatever you call it, for? I'm sure it has a purpose or else it wouldn't be there, right?

Re: Aftermarket Wheel Installation

Thanks for your help. It seems, though, no one around here [Millersville, MD] sells "thin-walled" sockets. I went to Sears, Pep Boys, Home Depot, Lowes, Auto Zone, Advance Auto, and even Mr. Tire. None of these places have the right socket, but they ALL suggested I go to one of the other places. Go figure...

Re: Aftermarket Wheel Installation

i was actually gonna ask about rotating front and rear tires and if the stocks (18's) were the same size front and rear. I guess not lol. I was just gonna try and save the tread on my tires for when i sell them in a few weeks

Re: Aftermarket Wheel Installation

you can always break down the tires and swap left to right. but i dont know if its worth the trouble.

Re: Aftermarket Wheel Installation

you can purchase them online, but i have no experience with this. i purchased tuner lugs from a local shop. they are open ended lugs that have the adapter / key attach on the inside for removal / installation. if your lug holes aren't that deep that would be your best bet, while also adding some security and imo aesthetics.
