245/45/18 - All around possible?

I have an 04 coupe with the performance package (18" rims).. believe it or not, been running STOCK tires on my front for 70,000 miles. Needless to say, I need some NEW tires asap. Yes yes, I am an idiot thanks.

Anyway, was wondering if anyone has any rubbing issues with 245/45/18 tires on the stock 18" rims on the 04 coupe. My search was coming up with similiar questions from people but mostly for the sedan.

I will be picking up all season tires.. Don't really drive my car all that hard as you can tell with my tires lasting this long. Anyway, if anyone has some recommendations for cheap tires taht would be great too. I was getting a good deal on 4 - 245/45/18's, hence the question.

Rubbing is not the issue. The issue is the VDC. It won't function properly if the wheels are not staggered. The coupe is designed for a staggered wheel setup. For your safety buy the proper setup.

Yep.... that's exactly the issue.

If you want 245's up front, you can run the setup that I use... which is 245/40/18 up front and the stock size in the rear(245/45/18). That works out fine with the VDC system, but gives you wider tires up front.

Great, thanks.. was going to be my next question. It seems I can find good deals on 245/40/18 as well as stock 245/45/18 for the rear. Awesome.. just saved me 200 bucks, thanks bud.
