I hope this isn't a stupid question about the OEM wheels!

I can't find any solid answers on a few things about the OEM wheels on the 2004 g35 coupe 6mt. First, are the RIMS staggered? 18x8 all the way around or are the rear's wider? And can I fit a 255/40/18 on the rears of the OEM rims?

Yea, what can fit without rubbing. Basically, would a 255/40/18 be to big of a tire for the OEM wheen of the 04 G.

NO NO NO, the OEM 18" WHEELS ARE NOT STAGGERED!!! From the factory, the tires ARE staggered, but never the wheels, not until the 05 Sport Wheels came out in the 19x8 and 19x8.5 size.

Factory spec of the 18" coupe wheels is 18x8+30 offset front and rear with a 225/45/18 front tire and a 245/45/18 rear tire.

You can put a 255/40/18 on all four wheels and not have to worry about rubbing. I use 235/40 on all four of my wheels with an M+S rated all season and that is a very minimal stretch (I know its a stretch because when I lay the wheels down, the wheel touches the ground and not the tire's sidewall).

There is nothing wrong with putting a non-staggered tire setup on the OEM 18's, but at the same time there is nothing wrong with going with a wider setup front and rear. I know some people have fitted 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear (but the 275 does bulge).

The 18" rims are not staggered. They are 8" width all around. The tires are staggered. It's only the 17" rims that are staggered, 7.5" and 8".

wheel sizes on 6mt coupe with brembos

the wheels on my 2003 g35 6mt are all stamped 18x8JJ and 30 (offset). however the front ones are stamped FRONT, W238 and the rear ones are stamped REAR, W239.

ARE THE FRONT AND REAR WHEELS IDENTICAL OR NOT??? if they are the same, why would Nisan stamp them FRONT/W238 and REAR/W239?

any help is greatly appreciated!
thanks!

That's because of the "index pin" on the back wheels. You can't rotate tires.
