I need an advise. My 09 G37X has those tiny 17" wheels now (stock). Suspension is stock (non sport). Can I go with 19" wheels and 245/40/19 tires? Or combination of regular suspension plus heavy wheels with low profile tires is going to be mistake? I like ASA GT1's 19" (Offset +45) wheels which are listed at 26.6 lbs. Are they heavier than stock? Will it cause problems?

Opinions?

Thanks.

Upgrading from stock 17" to 19" shouldn't be a problem. 26.6 Ibs(wheel alone?) prolly is heavier then the stock 17". 245/40/19 is pretty standard for g37x(I assume you have a sedan). I have a 06 g35 coupe(non sport suspension), I swiched to 19"s from stock 17"s. 245/35/19 +15 front 275/35/19 +20 rear. Never had any problem. The only thing you might want to consider is to lower your ride after change to those biger wheels coz 19"s will surely lift your car a bit. But then again you don't have to if your cool with it.

Thanks for reply. Yes, it's a sedan. I'm kinda of concerned about lowering it considering that there are no springs to lower it moderatly (~0.75"). Eibach will drop 1.5" and it's too much in northeast region (at least for me).
Are you sure that 19" wheels will lift car more thatn stock? Isn't diameter wheel+tire the same?
Oh well, maybe should go with 18" wheels....

I don't see any issue with that at all. The tire size is dead on and the wheel will work out fine. With the 19's will come better handling and response, but a bit stiffer ride. Not sure what the oe wheel weighs, but I highly doubt it's a significant difference.

I feel ya remo. I am from North too. Yeah, 19" WILL give you a feeling that your car is lifted not only because those numbers on paper but the wheel itself is bigger! So it will give you that kinda feeling although it's not that much difference in centimeters. But I will still go for 19"s coz it just looks better!

As for the drop... If you seeking for a mild drop, have you looked at Tein h-tech? There you go...

hello, I would also need a set of winter tires shipped to 48310. If you can suggest me some brands and types as well that'd be great. Also if you can include some dunlop m3's in the pricing and preferably 235/series in 17's. THanks

Thanks for that info!

Combo I went with on mine was 225/50-17 f and 225/55-17 r on the G and ran the B-Stone Blizzaks. A full set of the WS60's shipped would run $576.46.

As for the Z I'd go oem sizes if sticking with 18's. For the more aggressive option I'd look at the Michelin X-Ice XI2 as the WS60's are not available in that combo. They are, however, very similar in traction to the B-Stones. A full set of the X-Ice shipped would run $738.92.

Feel free to call me if interested!

Looks like it would be 235/50-17. We have the Blizzak LM60 in that size ($714.36 shipped) and the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 ($825.82 shipped but on b/o now). The tires offered in the 235 are more sport based, designed around mild snow climates.
