I was checking out a brake squeal, and on the inside front rotor was a quite large groove. It measured approx 1/8 inch in width and very palpable.Would anyone know if there is a risk driving and if it is covered for repair? I have the Brembo's.

There is a TSB for the front brake squeal during breaking when doing reverse. Not sure if yours is like that. But if it is, you might want to try searching for it here: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/

 

Is this groove under the pad area or are you speaking of the heat isolation slots near the rotor hub.

Thanks for the TSB link. I'll research it. And as to the position of the groove, It's mid-line pad and rotor.I appreciate the help.
