Quick Tire / VDC Question!

Hi all,

So this is a quick, hopefully simple question. I currently have a set of aftermarket 19" wheels on my car, with the OEM tires (Front: 225/40/19, Rear: 245/40/19). The rears are balding, and the fronts still have tread. I'm pretty cash strapped right now, and want to only replace the rears. My plan is to set the rears to: 275/35-19, and fronts to: 245/35-19 (when i eventually replace).

Now my question is this. Can I safely run my car with my current front tires: 225/40/19, and just replace the rears to: 275/35-19? Will this be ok? Or will it throw everything off (VDC)? I don't want to replace all 4 tires since the fronts still have tread. I want to use it for all its worth..if possible.

Thanks!

I would suspect VDC will become an issue with that width difference from front to rear along with the difference in grip with the new tires. I do not recommend it at all
