proper way to install wheel lugs?

I want to do this right, so what are the torque specs to install volk gt-s? I went for a test drive after installing my rims yesterday and noticed a lot of weird noises and stopped to find out that some of the lugs aren't tightened all the way. So I tighten them up again, did another test drive, this time a lil better but stll some weird noises from one of my wheels... I don't have any good tools to tighten the lugs, all i have is a small socket wrench. Maybe this why I am not getting enough support to tighten them really good. My ahnds are really hurting. I think i need to get a torque wrench with a long handle to do this.

Also some people say i should tighten the lugs while the wheels are off the ground, but how do you do this if the rotors keep rotating? I usually tighten them as much as i can with the socket, and then lower the car and finish it off.

What is the correct pattern to tighten the 5 lugs? Does it matter or do you have to do it in a special order?

I think it calls out 87 ft/lbs start pattern like Shane said.

they are tuner lugs... not sure why, but one of the lugs on my front driver side seem to stick out more then the rest. and i cannot tighten it any more.

One of your studs migth be cross threaded or stripped, also are the closed end nuts might be bottoming out.

who doesn't know how to put in lugs?

anyways what i learned the hard way is tighten the lugs while the car is still in the air, do it on the ground and risk messing the studs up

isn't that unsafe, especially if your car is using the oem jack, if you tighten it too hard, one false slip can turn into a disaster and tip over the jack or floor jack.

you do not need to torque the lugs down with the wheel off the ground. Get them as tight as you can off the ground, lower the vehicle, and then torque them down
