I found this thread yesterday because I was absolutely freaking out about my new setup. I just got some Volk Sf-Winnings running 245/40/19 +30 that are 9.5 wide. I don't know anything about offsets and was told this would be great on a Sedan. There was no doubt at all about rubbing. I could hear it on any divet in the road moving with any kind of speed at all. I am on a Coupe Sports suspension with coupe springs in the rear and Z springs up front. It was a nightmare. Soad (from the forum) was able to roll my fenders last night. I have easy protrusion from my well with the wheel as well. As it dips, engaging the suspension, the top of the wheel does definitely camber in. My fender well was slicing into the sidewall (not the top of the tire). Now that it was rolled last night, it is gold. Still, a very agressive offset. I would have been fine with flush or a tab in.

I recommend rolling. It really did save me.

Good Luck,
Dave

But before I actually spend money to get my fenders rolled. Will dropping my car lower using coilovers fix it? Because the lower you drop the car, the more negative camber. Shouldn't that also fix the rubbing issue?

Fender rolling is my last resort. Because I plan on switching to tein basic coilovers w/ spc rear camber kit in the future.

lol... you're contradicting yourself... you plan on dropping it lower with coilovers, thus increasing the negative camber (yes this will resolve your rubbing problems) but then you're going to get a camber kit to correct the negative camber and put it right back where it was rubbing before the coils... ROLL YOUR FENDERS!!! It's not that hard, you can DIY!

i guess i'm not rubbing, i exaggerated a little from the excitement. but i might roll the fenders.

i did the what redlude suggested. I used clay bricks that were 3.5 inchs assuming most pot holes in chicago are that big.

jacked it up

I ended up not being able to slide my finger in... but no rubbing.

So with this being the case, i dont think there is any huge chance of me rubbing but i'm considering getting my fenders rolled as a insurance.

Let me know what you guys think

Explain this. If all you did was install lowering springs/coilovers without getting an alignment, how would that get rid of any rubbing issues? All you do when lowering is move the suspension into a different position of its travel, which has a more negative static camber, but still has the same clearances as when you were at stock height

honestly that does not look like it will rub, the rubbing noise will be heard pretty clearly if you do rub

i dont hear much. When i go over bumps in the road, i hear something that wasn't present before but it could just be road noise as well. I haven't taken it on sharp turns or anything.

Its not a clear OMG whats that noise. I think the car lifted itself a little bit, when i first dropped it i wasn't able to slide my finger in and now i can. I heard of stuff settling in and going lower but it seems as if it went a couple of mm higher.

Just roll your fenders, not that hard.

I'm actually waiting on coilovers to be made for my car so i can just run those and bring up the car to a point where i wont need fender rolling. In the mean time i'm just going to go with coupe springs in the back. its $50 which is cheaper and makes the car look even

Looking around the wheels and tires for damage. the rubbing noise when i had 3 people in the rear was on my pass side. when i took the wheel off i noticed what looks like the EVAP lines for the fuel take. its a black plastic hallow tube to protect the actual lines. I think my tire was RUBBING against that.

Anyone deal with that? I guess 265 is wide enough to reach it where as stock 235 would of never touched it. i'm getting the fenders rolled shortly at a shop. But if this is the case it doesn't matter if its rolled or not.
