Question Newbie Question...

Hey Guys,

I hope this isn't already answered on here but after searching numerous times I couldnt find anything, so here goes...

I am trying to mount some TSW Thruxton wheels and Kumho Ecsta SPT tires 245/40/18 all around. But I noticed this little spacer that is supposed prevent people from rotating the directional tires(?).

Anyways, is there anything special to remove this "half-lug" or "spacer" or whatever it is?

Any advice is greatly appeciated!!!

Thanks,
Junya - a new g35 driver (and member)

The Coupe has "staggered" wheels, the backs are wider than the front. this keeps you from putting the wrong wheel in front.

Yeah, you can run the same size all round, the backs will just look a little more "stretched" than the fronts.

You really don't want to do that. The back tires don't fit on the front, they will rub.

No I meant get the OEM nub thing that keeps you from mounting the wrong tires on the car, I need to get that off. It looks like a socket would rit over it and it unscrews? The tip is a faded red paint color.

Im pretty sure the 245/40/18 wont rub considering it is only a 0.1% size difference according to another post on here with a fitment calculator.

a socket wrench. My sedan has that same threaded hole on the back rotors. Just twist it off.

Ive got the car jacked (the front left corner as shown in pic) and I cant get any leverage on the bolt. Any thoughts as to how I can pressure the caliper into preventing the rotors from turning?

(hope that isnt too much of a newbie questions)

Set the hand brake. If that won't hold get someone inside to step on the brakes. You may have to start the car to get the power assist going.

I didn't have the lug, just teh hole it is screwed into. On sedans, all the rims are the same unless you put something aftermarket.
