Can I mix Toyo and Vredestein tires?

Hey guys can I mix Toyo T1R fronts with Vredestein Sessanta rears? My rear T1R's are toast but the fronts still have a fair amount of wear on them. I was wondering if it was okay to run both of the brands at the same time?

That sucks. I'll prob just order Toyo T1R for the rear again...no point in wasting perfectly good fronts.

If the fronts are 1/2 done, try to find an used set of rears so they all end up wearing down at the same time. Then you can perhaps change up the brand.

That would be good, but I don't really have time due to personal reasons to be looking for used tires. What's the worst that can happen if I just mixed tires? I've been hearing good things about Vredestein and I'd rather not keep paying $$ for new Toyos, but will if I have to.

Thanks for your help and quick response.

IMHO you risk your handling suffering and VDC activation when you don't need it. But at the very least keep the type of tires to ultra summer etc... ie.. not all seasons and ultra summer performance.

VDC/Slip/ABS may all be affected by mixing tire brands... if the compounds are close enough, you might be ok. ^^what he said.

If you are not doing any crazy performance driving you will be fine.

Best idea is just to buy 4 new Vredestein (pretty cheap) and just sell your used Toyos on here. Someone will pick them up.

You can mix tires without a problem. The only thing you need to keep in mind is if the tires grip better or less than your old ones your car will handle different because you still have 2 of the older ones on either the front or back. So it might understeer or oversteer more now. But you will be fine. I would however keep one brand on rear and one up front and not have two brands on the rear.
