Tire Fitment Question

have a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, 245-35-19/275-35-19, mounted on 9.5 and 10.5 rims with no real stretch at all. even though it is not recommened fitment on Tirerack's website, these should be fine for fitment on a 19x10 and 19x11 rims...correct?

has anyone done a fitment like this and have any pics?

that is the most common tire size for 9.5 and 10.5 rims.

245/35-19 will fit wheels 8.0-9.5" wide, the 275/35-19 9.0-11.00" wide. Best not to try and fit them outside the ranges they are built for.

but does it not sometimes depend on the cut of the tire? I have some 245-35 Falken Grb-FK451 mounted on a 9.5 and they are stretched to the limit, where as the Michelin Pilot A/S mounted on a 9.5 is not stretched at all.

along the same line with the Falken Grb-FK451, I have a 285-35 on a 10.5 and it is lightly stretched where the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 275-35 on the 10.5 is almost bulging.

have read where most Japanese and S. Korean manufactured tires are cut a bit more narrow than the US and European manufacturers. I know that Pirelli's and BFG's tend to be wider than the identical sized Toyo's, Falken's and Hankook's

no one here has a 245-35 mounted on a 19x10?

find that hard to believe with all the tire stretching I have seen.

If you want to mount 245/35/19 Michellin PS A/P on 10" wide rims. I dont think you have a problem. As we know, Michellin tires are tend to be bigger than other tires. But for safety reason, 255/35/19 is an ideal size.

^agreed, but we all know the manufacturers post what is the most safe fitment and people have blown right through those recommendations.

would normally do a 255-35, but I have a brand new set of the Michelins just sitting in the house. the 275 should be fine with a little stretch on the 11" and I figure the same for the 245 since it is not stretched at all on the 9.5. what is a half inch about 13mm. worth a try, these were expensive tires to be just sitting around.

If you want to do it, just do it. You know what increased risks you are subjecting yourself to.
