Tire question?

Recently I was driving on the freeway and some how my tire gets something of a large nail like object into the tire. The object went into the front left tire and now my tire tore open. Now everything fine with the car thankfully. Now I am currently on the crappy spare that came with the car but I am not driving at all cause not sure how safe it is. The tires currently on the car is the standard GoodYear Eagle GS-D 215/55. Now I called two Infiniti dealers, they said they don't have the tires in stock and won't get it for like at least 2 weeks or more. I also called places that would carry the tire I am looking for and they said pretty much the same thing Infiniti said. Now what I would like to know is would it make any difference if I put another brand of sporty summer tire that is the same dimensions as the orginal? If so what do you people reccomend? Also if I use GoodYear Eagle GS-D3's 225/55 would that unbalance the car or anything of such sort? Thank you.

Re: Tire question?

DEPEND ON HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE CURRENT TIRES???- ALSO, YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE MIS-MATCHED TREAD DESIGNS ON A VEHICLE - UNSAFE... IF YOU BUY A PAIR OF GS-D3'S YOU WOULD BE FINE - NOT JUST ONE THOUGH..

Re: Tire question?

So is there any solution? Are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S better perfromance tires compared to the standard Goodyear GS-D?
