Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
Hey,
Do any of you fellas know how big you can go in Rim and Tire size on the Coupe (19's...20's...)? I am unsure of what sizes to order. Do they also make lowering springs other than Eibach? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
Bukwheat,
I guy from one of those online places guaranteed me that going 245/35/20 all the way around should be perfect. He said the did this on a 350Z w/ no problems. I was thinking about going 235/35/19 all the way around, but I know there is going to be a slight gap, and I really don't want to lower the car if I don't have to. I'm not sure to take the risk of getting the 20's and it rubs and I have to pay like $60 bucks to send them back. I've seen the 235/35/19's on my friends new 350Z and there is a slight gap, but its tolerable. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.

Re: Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
Sticking with the stock offset (I believe it's +35) will generally avoid tire rubbing on the top fender well and interior lining (when you move up in wheel size). Most aftermarket wheels come in +40 or +42, so you may have to avoid shopping online unless they can offer the stock offset...which shouldn't be a problem nor an added expense.
Rubbing in the inner lining of the fender cavity will occur if there's a piece of plastic (usually made to incorporate plastic clips or screws) protruding. This occurrance is generally noted with +40 and +42 offsets, cause the wheels stick out more. But if the interior lining is clean, then you only have to worry about rubbing on the top edge of the fender well....depending on the softness or height of your suspension set up. Your best bet is to see if anyone else is experiencing tire rubbing with 19's before you buy....I was just pointing out a possible issue you should consider.

Re: Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
Buk,
Thanks for the insight. I looked very closely at the coupe like 2 weeks ago, and above the rim on the front, this is a metal part that is only like 1 - 1.25 inches above the wheel. So in other words, the standard 225/45/18 is a real snug fit. I put that figure into the calculator and it came out to 25.97 inches. I put in 245/35/20 and it came out to 26.75 inches, so its cutting it pretty close. This is not taking into any consideration of offsets. I'm pretty sure 235/35/19 all the way around would be fine, though.

Re: Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
Somebody please help. I am getting my G Coupe in 2 to 3 weeks and I need to know how wide I can go with 19's in the rear. I want 19x10.5's. The rims are Volk Racing GT-C's and they dont make a 19x10, only 9.5 or 10.5. I want more lip than a 9.5 will provide. Any input please?? Thanks!

...then just go with the 19x10.5s.
Otherwise, you could go with the 19x9.5 and wider tires to get that extra "lip".
You can go as wide as you want...but you may not be able to go as low.

Re: Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
I went ahead an ordered the 19x8.5, 19x9.5's for my coupe. I would rather be able lower it more! I ordered Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires as well, has anyone had any experience with these tires? Any reviews? Thanks!
Re: Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
What offset did you end up ordering? I am getting ready to order the same wheel/tire combo. I have not yet decided on the OZ Racing Superleggara III (3-piece forged silver) or the Lowenhart LD1 (Multi-piece Chrome). Why did you decide on the Bridgestones? I was thinking Michelin, BFG, or Toyo? Any input would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Which ones will fit on the Coupe?
Be careful with the S-03's they are a bit oversized in terms of tires. Also, as for offset, the higher the offset, the more tucked in they will be. Volk recommend a +22mm offset with the wider wheels since width will affect the offset number. Keep that in mind.
