2 sets of wheels? 2 sets of TPMS?

checked the FAQ's and this question was left unanswered.

"Can I buy a second set of sensors for my other wheels and get both to work on my car?"

Basically i just ordered a set of 18's and I was wondering if I can have 2 sets of TPMS work in my car without having to re-program every time I switch tires.

Yes you can.
BUT they have to be programmed as you thought !!
You must go to the Dealers each spring and Fall to get them reprogrammed to your car at a cost ranging from $45 to $60 each time.
That is why many including myself only run sensors for one set and have the small dash light on for the other set.

I had an idea, since I also have 2 sets of TPMS, I was wondering if we could get all 8 sensors programmed at the same time so they would all be programmed to the car? I asked the infiniti tech but they never had anyone ask them that question.

Anyone that is a tech able to try?

So having the TPMS light on for 3-5 months won't mess up the car in any way?

Doesn't work that way. The system can only register 4 sensors at a time. The full size spare isn't even registered as part of the system even though it has a TPMS sensor in it.

If you wish to run 2 sets, you need to reprogram each time...or you can just live with the light on with 1 set and not worry about it. No harm having the light on all the time.

I have two sets too. The first time for the new set the dealer must reprogram. I bought a tool for $25 to reprogram back and forth now. The dealer didn't charge me for the reprogram.

Have you used the tool and successfully reprogrammed it yourself?

It does not hurt it at all.
When you put your wheels back on with the sensors, it will start to work again fine.

I have done this with my last 3 Infinitis, but, when you don't run your sensors, you should monitor your tire pressures once in a while.

Do you have the Nissan tool that looks like a pistol grip controller?

If so have you used it yet? I bought it too but have not tried it yet.
