I ran around 34psi on those rims when I had them.
I pay $20 each also for an install and balance and I have the shop owner do mine and he guarantees no scratches or marks for me.
Hey Wayne, long time no chat. I looked up the manual and it's 33psi for the OEM 235/45/18. But for the coupe 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 are both 35psi. Anyway, I set it for 35psi for now.

Didn't know you have a FX now. My cousin bought a 09 FX silver as well recently and it's good stuff.

How come you change your cars so often? You lease them every 2 years?

Good to see you are still piloting the X Bobby. I should take some tips from you.
No I wasn't leasing, I buy my vehicles, I have never leased. Hopefully I will keep the FX a bit longer than my two X's. We are really enjoying it though, it's a nice ride. We swithched to the FX because we wanted a vehicle where your seat was a bit higher off the floor for comfort on long cruises. It is perfect for that. Both my X's were awesome cars, we had no major complaints with either of them.

Tirerack installers have to pay a certain amount to be advertised on tirerack, hence they all stick with the standard price of $25 or whatnot.

personally i've dismounted and mounted tires before. Some tires are a pain to install and some are cake. $20 a tire is more then worth it. Hence why i stick with paying $20 max. These new tire machines are nearly damage proof, only tards can damage wheels now a days, well a standard tire and a standard wheel, not the 225 on 10inch wide crap.

Wow...then you must have lost a lot in depreciation when you trade it in. Well...as long as you are loaded then it's all good.

I wish I have the money to swap cars every few years. Looks like you are very devoted to Infinitis.

That's how this thread got started. I ordered from Tirerack and called two of the installers recommended on the tirerack site.

Ok thanks! Cross has a range of costs depending on the size of the tire. Breaks down like this,

0-35 Series $ 25.00
40-45 Series $ 20.00
50-55 Series $ 15.00
60+ Series $ 12.50

So that was accurate for a 45 series tire.

STS has a range of $15-$25 depending on the size and vehicle application. How they came to that number based on vehicle I'm not sure, but if they didn't know what size they more than likely guessed based on what they know the G uses as a size.

Working on lower profile, more sport based sizes that have little sidewall flex and such requires, at times, more care or even different equipment. A Camry with a tall sidewall and potentially steel wheels would take less effort to change vs. an 18" with nice aluminum wheels. I wouldn't say they were off in their estimates, but could have been a little more professional in their reply/explanation.

Yes, Cross Island Tire was right on the mark. Message was brief and answer was 20 per tire. The next day I drove to the shop. I walked in and said "Hi...I called yesterday regarding the tires...". He didn't even wait for me to finish. He said 80 bucks. WOW...

I told STS about the size but he didn't question anything about the size and was more interested on what kind of car I drive. So I wasn't sure if he was anticipating on the price based on my answer (i.e. BMW 40/tire, Infiniti 30/tire, Honda 20/tire, etc).
