Unless you have Limited Slip Differential (LSD), one wheel spinning is expected. I'm guessing you don't have sport pkg (which included LSD).

................. your car will always do that. If both wheels always lit up, you'd drag a wheel every time you took a turn. One wheel peels are expected unless you have a limited slip dif, which you do not, because your car is an 04 and they didnt get a limited slip.

There's a bunch of guys with pre 05s with LSD stock. There was a thread about this and we figured that most of the Canadian Gs had LSD regardless of what package they had.

It really depends on the condition of the road surface. My open diff 5AT has absolutely no issues laying two perfectly equal sets of rubber on a launch. The only time it does a one tire fire is on slow speed off camber turns.

An open diff can still light up both tires if the right conditions are met.

But it can also do the 1 wheel peel more often than not.

I guess this was only in sedans? I have an '04 Brembo coupe, she surely leaves 2 skid marks. Every time.
It's an LSD for sure.

To the OP, Open differential is why you spin one wheel, as stated before. This link will explain to you why.

It feels nice when both wheels dig into the pavement.
