Nitrogen at Costco?

Was at Costco today and saw they were advertising the use of nitrogen in tires. Has anyone tried it and if so could you tell any difference in ride, handling, etc?

Re: Nitrogen at Costco?

Nitrogen is optiomal for filling your tires. It is a dry gas and I believe resists heat expansion a little better than air. Mostly it is beneficial beacuse of how dry it is. Helium on the other hand is pointless to use lol. Also helium is one of the smallest molecules of gas so the chances of it staying in your tires is not that great. I have a nitrogen tank in the Garage for filling tires.....

Re: Nitrogen at Costco?

air is already 70% nitrogen already

the claim is that N2 is a larger molecule, so it will leak less, thus minimizing pressure loss

I also heard that since air has more moisture, when the tires heat up, it causes water to vaporate which will make the tires expand. I guess nitrogen has less of it.
