Repainting the 6MT Brembo calipers

Hey all, I do like the Gold colored look of my brembos but I would like to have red instead. Any one here repainted there 6MT brembo calipers? Not sure if the G2 kit would do a decent job on account of the glossy finnish on them.

Re: Repainting the 6MT Brembo calipers

I saw another post where someone used the G2 kit to repaint the brembos. I'm not sure that I'd do it myself. You might consider speaking with Brembo directly. I know that they repaint the calipers with their paint. It might cost a pretty penny, but it would look pretty awful if the G2 paint started flaking off down the road. If you do use the G2 paint, make sure to mask everything and I personally would rough up the surface of the stock calipers to give the paint something to adhere to. Remember, your calipers see extreme temperatures and even rocks at high speeds. In my experience, paint typically doesn't stick real well to other paint under "harsh conditions".

The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right!

Re: Repainting the 6MT Brembo calipers

Thanks but I will sand them myself and from all the pictures I have seen with this G2 kit it is really nice and glossy and wet looking after the application. This stuff is a special paint and it should never crack, peel, or flake. I don't autocross so I suspect my caliper temps won't get that hi and it is a special hi heat resistant paint. I appreciate your info... thanks again!

I just ordered the G2 kit for me and my buddy, he has a 911. I also should be getting my new wheels, tires, and springs late this week.

IF SF Challenge Mercury Silver in 255/35/19 +21 -- 275/35/19 +23 with the GY F1 GS-D3's and the RS*R springs...

So my whole look should change a lot......
