Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Thinking of throwing these on my aftermarket 19's. 245/35 and 275/35. I only care about good tread life and a quiet ride. Im located in South Florida and don't drive aggressively.
Thanks..
Thanks..
I have them and they are probably the best tires I've owned. there is a little road noise under 20mph but you wont be there for long. As far as longevity, I've only had them on for less than 1000 miles. Hope this helps.
These are the tires I am going to get, because I need Long tread life and amazing wet traction, I too live in south Florida. These tires meets my requirements.
I researched them a bunch, only thing people say is about it has slower steering response, but just pump up to 38 PSI and it helps alot.
They come with 6 year 50k mile warranty and 12 month of road hazard as well as 60 day satisfaction guarantee(if you don't like them you can change for any conti tire). Pretty neat.

Thanks guys.
It seems like these are going to be the ones I get. I wonder what the stipulations are concerning the warrenty.
I'll update this thread when the tires come.

Warranty doesn't apply to people with staggered wheels. Must be able to rotate the tires for the warranty to be warranted.
But anyways, I have the DWS on my TL right now... Excellent tire... My wife claims the car has better dry handling response with the DWS then she did with the Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions that were on there before... (tho I think that claim is suspect, but who knows...)
NOT true, if the car came from the factory with staggered wheels. I know, because I had my tires replaced at America's Tire Company (aka Discount Tire Company). I asked about this before I bought the tires, and they said it wasn't a problem if the car came from the factory with staggered wheels. and they were true to their word.....

I even asked about the rotating side-to-side thing by dismounting the tires and remounting, on other side etc... They said that didn't matter, because that wasn't considered a rotation, becuase you had to dismount the tires. (ie, it would cost labor to do that, and isn't included in the standard "Free Rotations").
Had the tires on for a week now and i love them. The ride is better on my 20's then my factory 18's. I have 8.5 in the front and 10's in the back. I originally went with the recommended sizes which are 245/35 front and 275/30 rears. The thing is, a 245/35 DWS conti is beefier than lets say a 245/35 proxe4 tire. The 245/35 DWS looked to big and they rubbed. Because of the conti's " 60 day customer satisfaction warranty", i was able to go back and swapped them for a 225/35 at no cost to me (actually got some money back) and let me tell you, they look amazing and i couldn't be any happier. I live in NY and was afraid to put a 225 on my wheels but a 225 DWS almost looks like a 245 proxe4.
