Stretching tires, NEVER AGAIN!

This whole stretching tires thing looks cool and great but it stops there.. I just had to see what this craze was all about.. Not my thing. Maybe if your G is nothing but show car then its acceptable but if you actually drive it how its meant to be driven the performance on the tires suck!

I am stretching 245/40/19 all around on 19x10 wheels. This whole hella flush stretched tires thing looks amazing but I can't do this anymore.

I am lowered on coilovers and running hotchkiss sways front and rear on the stiffest setting.

Tires: Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. They do not feel as stable, kind of wobbly in the rear.. They lose traction very fast. High speed cornering you'll feel a wobble and the rears start to feel like they're going to give out.

-NOW-

On the EXACT same suspension set up with the EXACT same tire brand and model on stock 18's sizes 245/45/18 but not stretching tires, the car would handle pretty damn well and felt very stable in the same cornering speeds.

Now just yesterday on the highway it was raining and on the stretched 245/40/19's the car would hydroplane on the smallest puddles on the freeway. Very annoying.

So I guess its time to roast these up and run 275's+ all around..

i got a 245/35 on my 10.5 no issues here but obviously traction is lost not as same as before but i don't know what you were expecting

i've driven in the rain with my car and actually it feels reaaly stable
also i don't see how a 245/40 is a stretch on a 10

no need to get mad at the style, and think it stupid..... most people who stretch and poke know that they're sacrificing performance for looks..... apparently you're not one of those people.

just stick with flush and no stretch and the only problem you will have is a bit of camber wear

So we have nearly the same tires but your rim is 1.3 centimeters wider.. Really going to make that big a difference between stretch?

A 275 will stretch on a 10..

^ A 275/30 will stretch on a 10 not a 275/35. I have tried it.

And it all depends on the company of the tire because every company has a different mold.

but your wheel is 19x10 im 20x10.5 a 245/35 on a 10.5 is a WAY bigger stretch than a 245/40 on a 10, its how wide the wheel is also depends on the tire brand some run small, true and large

so its not nearly the same thing, gotta take into account wheel width
