You got it, a real hoot.

I'd probably be happy with any of the top four here. Oh, wait, actually I am happy with my Bridgestone Serenities. Let's see, tied for first place in "Would buy again," tied for second place in "Hydroplaning resistance," first place in "Wet traction," tied for first in "Cornering stability," tied for first in "Dry traction," tied for second in "Steering response;" well just go look. They give up a few points in the winter, but I have not had any problems and have not even considered getting snow tires.

I got the yoko s drives last summer. For winter I use conti extreme winter snows. The Yoko's are 235/50-17 on 7 1/2' wide rims. They are a lot stickier than the all season tires that were mounted when I got the car. This size is an xl load rating so they ride a little stiff but not uncomfortable. The slip light doesn't come on with the s drives like it did with the all season and snow tires. They're wearing evenly and only slightly, about 1/32" after 6K miles.
They produce no over or under steer when I push them on back roads. IMO they were my best choise for summer tires that I could afford and properly fit on my rims last summer.
You might also want to check out the new conti DW.

I first heard about them while reading a review a few months ago. They came in dead last among 12 tires, with their dry track time being slower than about half the other tires' wet track times. They rank right up there with Nexen and Nankang. Pure junk, the kind of tire you'd buy when turning a lease back in.

A good tire, but he'd never get anywhere near 30K out of them.

Remember, those rankings are all within the Grand Touring All-Season category. It's like being the MVP of the minor leagues. It wouldn't fare nearly as well when compared directly to a High or Ultra High Performance All-Season or Summer tire. I'm not saying they're bad tires, just want to put a little perspective into those rankings.
