Anyone running higher series in the front?

Anyone running a 45 series in the front and a 40 series in the rear to keep their diameter the same ? I was going to run a 235-45-18 in the front and a 265-40-18 on the back.. Does that make sense to anyone else, the diameters and everything are almost identical as far as I can tell..

telling us your rim width would help a lot to see how much of the wall will be stretching...

no point of runnin staggered tires on same width rims...

Just seems weird to me to have a higher series in the front then the rear, even if it is to even out the diameter.. You probably wouldnt even notice the difference.

Well I have the stock 17's on my 03 coupe and want to go to a 235 in the front. What is my best option? I've looked at 235/40 and 235/45 and going by the tire calculator on the miata website the 235/45 is probably the best option if i want to go wider. Thoughts?

Well my two front tires are shot so I figured while I am at it I might try to go wider without being to drastic. Is the 235/45 the way to go?

235/45s are too short, even 245/45s are a bit short

stock coupe with 17s has 225/50 fronts and 235/50 rears

either do what I did and get 235/50 fronts and 255/45 rears or maybe 245/45 front 255/45 rear

245/45s make wheel gap worse though...if u want a 235/45 you better get an 18 though because its like .75" too short in 17

Cute. but u do know I went thru Every good lookin OEM rim possible right lol
Check the pix I posted over the years. So i know a thing or two about the tire sizes.

and now im the First 1st Gen all wheel drive on 370z 19s
19x10 +30offset 275/35/19 rear
19x9 with 245/40/19 Fronts.

OP didnt post rim width in the firstpost.
G35s came with 17s 18s 19s with different tire profiles and width. Rim width plays a good role on tire profiling. We all know that by now... I hope.

you are running staggered tires with different od's on an AWD G...sounds like a good way to ruin your awd system...I hope you have done your research

Trust me Ive done enough research and ive been the genuinepig for past 3 yrs.
No problems. daily driven... AWD doesnt sense up to 0.03mm dimension difference.

Use this all the time. Learn how to use it and this will be your bibble

yeah i put the sizes into tirerack and saw a larger difference, but i was probably looking at the wrong column or something

but there is a 3.5mm difference between those sizes so I'm not sure how .03mm is relivent

btw i've been using that site as my "bibble" since like 2002
