Getting my wheels powdercoated

Hey again . I have decided to get my wheels powdercoated IF the test wheel I sent out to the shop comes out alright. I have been doing much research on this topic. Here are the two threads pertaining to this topic.

Thread 1: https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...8706;=all&vc=1

Thread 2: https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...&part=all&vc=1

Below I have posted two pictures. The first picture is an origonal. The second is a photoshopped picture with the color I chose... the "ABC Silver Gray" to powdercoat my wheels with. It is probably as close as I'm going to get until I see the test wheel. Tell me what you guys think! I just don't want it to look dirty.

Thanks - Joey Avino

I can barely tell the difference. It's only a shade darker than the original pic. Maybe you should go with something darker?

Nope I don't want anything darker. I don't want the wheels to look dirty. I want people to look at the car and say that there is something different but that they can't figure out what it is.

Thanks - Joey Avino

But is it worth the money for such a subtle difference in color? Maybe the finished product will come out with a bigger difference in color, but from those 2 pics, i can hardly telll.

I tell ya what, I like it...

If you look at the first pic your eyes get "drawn in" to the wheels naturaly due to the sheen on the wheel.

In the second pic your eyes are more relaxed and you are "drawn in" to the beautiful wax job on the car and your eyes wash over the whole car and are not focused on the wheels after a period of time. His motivation is to have a subtle difference, and I think this accomplishes his goals.

Are you going to have a clear coat applied? I would still like to see some sort of shine to them instead of a dull coat.

Good luck.
